Under-utilized Equipment Taking Up Space in Your Practice?
In addition to providing great savings on aesthetic equipment and service, Bal-Tech Medical also helps clients and prospective customers in the medical aesthetic field sell equipment that is being replaced or no longer in use.
Bal-Tech Medical has always offered an equipment consignment program, but recently expanded it to provide the seller more options.
“We were finding that if Bal-Tech Medical was not in need of a certain piece of equipment at a certain time, the data about equipment available for sale was simply in our computer data base and not being available to enough prospective buyers,” Bal-Tech Medical president Rich Balance said.
“So we created a few options for sellers to consider, especially offering wide exposure through our web site and newsletter formats at a very reasonable cost,” Balance said. “It is a way for the seller to place an ad, at very low cost, or to have the laser on display here for demos for our many visitors.”
Physicians or medi-spa owners interested in selling equipment now have three options to consider:
Option 1 – Free listing in Bal-Tech Medical’s equipment data base
This option requires only that you complete our equipment evaluation form online via our website, or request a form be faxed to you. Once the form is completed, the information goes into Bal-Tech Medical’s “Available Equipment” database. If it is a piece of equipment that Bal-Tech can sell immediately, a purchase offer sheet from Bal-Tech would follow. Otherwise, the system information will be in the database for easy referral. It would not be posted on our web site.
Option 2 – Fee: $250 -- Equipment listing on Bal-Tech Medical website and newsletter. With this option, after completing the equipment evaluation form, you also can e-mail a photo of the equipment. The system information is then put on Bal-Tech Medical’s website on the Equipment Showcase for 12 months, or until the system is sold. If the system does not sell in 90 days, then the equipment will also be listed on the Bal-Tech Medical newsletter as available inventory. The newsletter currently goes out to nearly 2,000 Bal-Tech Medical clients (aesthetic and surgical laser users) each month and our website enjoys worldwide reach and recognition as a leader in the aesthetic medical equipment brokerage and consultancy business.
Option 3 – Fee $750 – Laser showroom display, web site and newsletter exposure.
This is the most effective option Bal-Tech Medical offers. We will pick up the piece of equipment and ship it to Bal-Tech Medical’s laser showroom and warehouse for display to the many clients who visit the facility when researching equipment purchases and touring our own medi-spa. Bal-Tech Medical will inspect, clean and appraise the system and prepare it for hands-on demonstrations. The equipment will also get 12-month exposure on our web site and mention on our newsletter each month during the course of the year until it sells. The $750 fee covers the shipping and insurance of the system while in our warehouse, and at the time of sale, Bal-Tech Medical would receive 20 percent of the sale price as its compensation.
After the inspection, Bal-Tech will inform sellers of any needed repairs that could increase the saleability of the system. When sale negotiations are taking place, Bal-Tech Medical also is able to offer prospective purchasers our full array of service warranty options to protect their new investment (in our experience, this also helps equipment sell much faster).
