YEAR-END EQUIPMENT PURCHASES ENJOY TAX BREAK

It’s that time of year again – when Bal-Tech Medical clients are cashing in on tax savings made possible by Section 179 of the IRS code.

By purchasing equipment before the end of the year, clients are able to deduct the first $105,000 of the cost of the equipment, provided that equipment is placed into service this year. It does not matter whether it is purchased outright or financed on a conditional sale.

This equates to big savings for those buying in the final two months of 2005.

For example, when $105,000 worth of equipment is purchased in 2005, the buyer would be able to take deductions immediately on their next estimated tax payment. Assuming the purchaser is in a 35 percent tax bracket, he/she would reduce the tax due on their return by $36,750 (using the equation of $105,000 x 35 percent). This gives them an “after tax cost” of only $68,250!

“There is a reason we are so busy at this time of year, finding equipment for clients and processing orders,” Bal-Tech Medical president Rich Balance said. “That reason has a lot to do with our clients understanding how these new tax incentives work.”

Financial lenders who work with Bal-Tech have noted that for every dollar financed over $420,000, a dollar is lost off of the $105,000 deduction allowed under Section 179. Check with your accountant to determine what deductible dollars you may still have available for 2005!
