Customize the Aesthetic Success Program to Emphasize Business and Marketing Training
Bal-Tech Medical prides itself on the full menu of services it can offer with its Aesthetic Success Program, a comprehensive medi-spa startup program for those entering the industry or adding on to a current practice.
Stressing cost savings in each phase, Bal-Tech has been able to guide clients through medical spa building projects, then supply equipment with warranties, essential marketing tools, and clinical, marketing and spa management training that sets the foundation for success.
“One of the most appealing things about the Aesthetic Success Program has been that it can be customized to fit each client’s equipment and training needs,” Bal-Tech Medical president Rich Balance said.
Because of that, Balance said, his company realized quickly that many clients needed the medispa management and business training as a key component.
Equally as important, clients with current practices or medical spas sought the extra training as a way to jump-start business, or provide more insight or refreshers on the proper way to market and brand your medical spa, as well as how to operate it efficiently and safely with excellent customer service.
“We found that the spa management and marketing training as separate purchases or as a combined side package to the full ASP was very attractive to our clients,” Balance said.
It is not uncommon for physicians, nurses and aestheticians to seek extra clinical training to be able to introduce new treatments to patients, but seeking advice and guidelines for operating and promoting the business is a relatively new arena for those in the medical field.
“We have always said that this aspect of operating a medical spa is just as important as the equipment you purchase,” Balance said. “Too often, the time and energy used to research equipment is far greater than studying the business aspects and understanding your market.”
“We feel obligated to make the case that they are of equal importance, at the very least,” Balance said. “Some could make a strong argument that it wouldn’t matter what equipment you had if you did not know how to operate your business and position it in the marketplace in a way that would make it stand out above other competitors.”
"That is what the management and marketing training phases of the Aesthetic Success Program entails", Balance said.
Shawn Dunning, the operations manager at Bal-Tech Medical’s Ultimate Image Medical Spa and Training Center, conducts the two days of operations training and 12 weeks of followup conference calls and discussions.
The operations training covers many facets, including business plan considerations, design and décor, insurance needs, consent and record keeping forms, OHSA and HIPPA requirements, scheduling strategies, computer hardware and software needs, fee schedules, skincare products, skin-care consults, laser safety protocol and many other topics.
Kathleen Sirota, office manager and aesthetician at the practice of Dr. Eric Okamoto in Fremont, CA was pleased with her experience after purchasing the training package.
“The operations training is a 10 out of 5,” Sirota said. “We have 15 years experience in running a skin care clinic and look forward to implementing the time saving, invaluable material that Shawn Dunning presented.”
“Shawn’s wealth of information coupled with a down-to-earth and comprehensive approach is educational and inspiring,” Sirota added. “The research is all done for you, saving you months of labor, and the ongoing support is worth the whole package price.”
The marketing training, conducted by Judy Stelling, includes an initial market survey and analysis, an analysis and review of your competition, establishing a marketing strategy and carrying it out, and how to maximize your marketing dollars.
